Silicon Islands AB
Silicon Islands AB designs, builds, and operates placeprofile.net, the structured atmospheric layer for AI-mediated venue discovery.
What we operate
Silicon Islands AB is the legal controller and operating company of placeprofile.net. We design, build, and run the resolution pipeline that converts a public Spotify playlist into roughly 93 kilobytes of schema.org JSON-LD; the publishing layer that serves it at a stable URL; and the infrastructure that monitors how AI bots interact with each venue's profile.
When ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, or a hospitality voice assistant asks the question that the venue is positioned to answer, “find me a relaxed cafe in Gothenburg with a chill afternoon vibe”, the assistant fetches the structured profile, quotes the relevant fields, and surfaces the venue to the asker.
The product is intentionally narrow. It does not publish marketing copy. It does not run review aggregation. It does not handle reservations, ordering, payments to the venue, or licensing of the music itself.
Important. PlaceProfile reads metadata only. It never plays, streams, distributes, or licenses music. The venue handles its own performance licensing through the rights organisations operating in its jurisdiction or whichever commercial music-licensing service it uses for in-venue playback.
The thesis
Generative AI is not attacking the search flywheel by being smarter than Google. It is attacking it by moving upstream. When a guest sits down to plan a trip and opens a conversational AI assistant rather than a search engine, the query never reaches Google. The intent is processed and generates a shortlist in a separate system.
When a guest uses an AI assistant to find a place to stay, the system does not run a keyword match against a database of tags and amenity lists. It reasons in natural language. It processes the texture of the request, and surfaces properties whose descriptions resonate with that texture.
PlaceProfile descriptions are not marketing copy. They are the data layer that AI systems use to form recommendations. AI-legible place descriptions are built to be found by a system that is doing the looking on behalf of a human who may never visit the property's website.
Three doors to the product
For investors
Music-derived structured data is the signal AI assistants prefer for hospitality recommendations. The thesis, the architecture, the mechanism.
